Dog Training, Agility, & more
What ideas did you have when you got your dog that you wanted your dog to do? That might be complex like teaching them to do an agility course! Or it might be going on your daily walks in peace. But everyone’s got an idea what they want their dog to be like.
Let me help you and your dog get there together.

This involves your standard dog obedience training, including loose leash walking, sit/stay, non-verbal commands, correcting behavioral problems, etc.

Dogs can do some incredible things, and we can do some with them. This involves flying disc competitions, agility courses, Fast CAT, dock diving, and more.

While physical activity is vital for our dogs to live healthy and fulfilling lives, mental stimulation in addition (such as scent work and educational dog play) is important.

My name is Peter Wohlstadter, and I am a dog trainer in the St. Louis area. I have four dogs of my own that I compete with and train every day. Dogs, and animals in general, have been my passion as long as I can remember. I grew up with two Greater Swiss Mountain dogs in the house at all times, along with fish and any other animal I could care for. After high school, I served as a corpsman for 5 years, where I learned discipline, structure, and how to see long term projects until the end. After getting out of the Navy, I worked as a bartender in both restaurant and concert/event settings, which has strengthened my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. For me, training dogs started with my own dogs, and it was my wife’s rescue who fully convinced me to make this my career. I now want to help others who love their canine companions but want a more cohesive and healthier lifestyle for you and your dog.

Dog training is one of the most humbling experiences that we as humans can go through. The idea of dominance over a dog or being an “alpha” is archaic way of thinking that I do not find to be helpful in a successful relationship with your pet. Dogs do, on the other hand, enjoy a hierarchy in which they have a defined role. Canines are pack animals and enjoy being part of your human pack, with purpose. My method of training focuses on a mutual respect between you and your dog, with an emphasis on the dog understanding its role in your family.
